Welcome to Tiburon
When in Tiburon, it's easy to see why you'd move here after launching an IPO for your company or taking over management of the family fund. Just walking through Tiburon feels like being in a fancy posh club. There's a distinctly international vibe, with many European families transferred from overseas (often banking) jobs and raising children in Tiburon. Spectacular views of the City skyline and the glistening Bay abound, with plenty of opportunities for a elegant waterfront living, from sailing to paddle-boarding to walking and biking along the gorgeous public trails along the Bay.

- You can't miss Friday Nights on Main in the summer. No cars on the last Friday of each summer month with live music, wine and al fresco dining.
- Swim and play tennis at members-only Tiburon Peninsula Club.
- Stock up at Rustic Bakery for a weekend picnic at Blackie's Pasture.
Reed Elementary (K-2), Bel Aire Elementary (3-5)
Reed Union School District is a Basic Aid district, meaning it is far better funded than most nearby Marin school districts with lower tax revenue. It is also a district serving one set of community schools (Reed Union schools are split into three different age ranges: Reed K-2, Bel Aire 3-5, and Del Mar Middle School serving 6-8 graders), and all extra funds raised (for example, through the active PTA) stay with Tiburon/Belvedere schools. This fundraising structure makes it much easier to raise large sums of money from parents than if the funds were going to be distributed among many schools across a district. Tiburon schools are attractive and well-maintained, and better able to stave off cutbacks due to California State budget constraints. Parents should expect to contribute time and money to maintain art, music and enrichment programs, as is the case in most high-performing Marin school districts.
High-schoolers attend a school in the Tamalpais Union School District, with most choosing nearby Tam (Mill Valley) or Redwood (Larkspur).
Tiburon is known in Marin for having an exceptionally strong, well-funded public school district. However, attending private school is not uncommon. Nearby private options include nearby St. Hilary's in Tiburon (Catholic, parochial), Marin Country Day (Corte Madera), and St. Patrick's (Larkspur). Ask a Hoodvibe featured agent if you want to dig deeper into local school options.
ferry to sf: 20 minutes
Taking the Ferry to San Francisco is a popular, sensible option, given the long, slow drive to the 101 at rush hour. It's also a rather magnificent start and finish to the work day.
